New Zealand Photographer Peter Black is well-known for his black and white street photography. Peter emerged on the art scene in 1978 with his raw candid street photographs. Looking through his prolific body of work it is not hard to see how his influence in the art world continues today.
“It is important to me that the everyday person is documented and not the newsworthy or famous that the media concentrates on. Sometimes people ask me what I’m doing and I’m trying to get everyone, I’m trying to document New Zealand – and include everyone, young, old, poor and wealthy.”
