Millions of monarchs fly up to 8000 kilometres from America to Mexico each year with only the sun as their compass and the magnetic pull of the Earth's atmosphere to guide them. The monarchs make this sacred journey without guidance from their ancestors, who travelled the same route in previous years.

Moved to tears by the enormous instinctual strength and vulnerability of these magnificent creatures, Deborah feels their fragility mirrors our own. With a devastating 60% decline in numbers in the past 2023/2024 season, severe weather from climate change, the consequences of failing to care for our planet is making their existence unsustainable.
