A graduate of Massey University with First Class Honours in Photography, Hendrix is currently completing a cross-disciplinary Master of Arts at the University of Otago. In 1840, he reflects on the enduring legacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, considering the weight of history, intergenerational memory, and the ongoing realities of colonisation in Aotearoa. Drawing from personal and whānau histories, the work explores the relationship between inherited experience and contemporary identity, inviting viewers to consider how the past continues to shape the present.

The exhibition comprises five C-type hand prints made from 4×5-inch negatives, printed in London by master printer Bryan O'Leary.
