Michael Williams, Untitled

2021 saw the passing of one of Toi Ora’s photographers and poets, Mike Williams. His absence at Toi Ora is strongly felt as we move into 2022.

T.S Eliot once said “The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique, utterly different from that from which it was torn”. From sentiments such as this, we the photographers want to honour Mike’s memory by working in his unique style. We will explore extreme vibrancy and high contrast, amplifying the connection between nature’s colour palette and the experience of visceral feelings.
