Tony Nyberg, Oakley Creek #01, 10 May 2018

Tony Nyberg is a photographer, videographer and co-founder of back_space_books, based in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Oakley Creek / Te Auaunga, is a significant Auckland urban stream, flowing from Hillsborough to the Waitemata Harbour and local to Tony’s home in Waterview. Close proximity to the area provided him with the opportunity to discover the area’s rhythm and processes; and seek solace from the busyness of ordinary life. Capturing the environmental and cultural changes of the creek and surrounds throughout the seasons, Tony’s attentiveness to this local ecology over a three-year period highlights the richness of life around this urban waterway.
